Web Design Phases
Client Interview
Determine your needs and goals and understand the targeted audience's perspective to insure the site is effective and user-friendly. This survey provides an opportunity to thoughtfully consider and clarify how best to develop the content and site structure for optimal site design.
Information Architecture
All content that will be provided by the client to be included within the site: text, images, photographs, PDF's, forms, etc. is outlined to clearly show how each page will be built.
Site Map
This planning tool organizes all pages within the site in a clear and efficient manner that makes sense to you and to the audience.
Wireframe
This visual guide shows the structure of the website and the relationship between all of the pages within the site, including main navigation pages, sub-pages, as well as hidden pages or documents.
Storyboard
This is a mock up of the page layout chosen and includes all elements on the page: • One, two, or three column design • Horizontal or vertical navigation bar • Content areas with text and image locations
Design
A design is drafted based on information in the client survey and layout approval. • Background colors • Font styles and colors
Site Development
All pages are created based on the information architecture, site map, approved layout and design. • Search engine optimization of site structure, page titles, descriptions, meta tags, HTML, content, cross linking within the site, and back linking to increase relevance to keywords.
Upon site completion a thorough investigation is done • Web accessibility for people with disabilities • Insure link functionality • Site rendering in major browsers • W3C testing
Test, Refine, Re-Test
A link to the hidden website is provided so that it may be tested by your family, friends or colleagues to provide feedback so you can determin any refinements you wish to be made. A re-test is undertaken before the launch.
Launch
The site is uploaded onto your chosen web hosting service. The site is re-tested. A link to your site is included on Blue Moon Arts Portfolio page.
